Hi! I'm Pookie! I am a cute but shy black and white kitty. I am one of the 40 kitties from a local hoarding house ... and I lived in the basement. I didn't get much socializing for my entire life, and I only saw light from the room light. I never got to experience looking out a window or watching birdies. I am sweet, but just scared. I am not used to human interaction. I need a quiet home with someone that will give me time and space to learn how great life in a home is for kitties.

I have become bonded with my buddy, Willy, and we do need to go home together. Even though Willy and I lived in the same home, he was upstairs and I was downstairs. We have found friendship in our new circumstances, and we look to each other for comfort.

I am FIV+, which is a feline immunodeficiency virus. It means my immune system is compromised, and it may have a harder time fighting off infections. I can live a happy, healthy and normal life, with a normal life span. I cannot pass FIV onto humans, and FIV can only be spread to another cat through deep bite wounds—like you would see in cats living outside who might have to aggressively fight for food or territory.
