Resident Purrofile:
Hi! I'm Cookie! I am a weathered-looking kitty, and that's just part of my story. I am a sweet, but scared boy, having lived in a hoarding house for many years. I was actually the very last kitty removed from the home. I was kitty #40! I lived in the basement, and one day I happened to get into an interior storage room and they couldn't find me. They were worried about me so much and if I was OK! They were finally able to get to me and bring me into the shelter to get the love and care I needed. (They think that maybe chemicals got onto my fur in that storage room, and that's why I have some nakey skin down my neck.)

I am becoming more confident with people and will now eat licky treats off your finger, but I am still learning to receive attention from humans. (I can be bribed to come up on your lap with treats!) When it's quiet at the shelter, with few people around, I have been known to check out the toys and start playing! I'm still really learning to be a cat, and so far I think I like it!

I would probably like to be an only kitty. When I'm in the large cat room, I can be a bully to the others. I wasn't around a huge group of cats before—just those that I lived with in the basement—and it's a little overwhelming. I am a sweet, chatty boy who would just love a loving forever home.
